Livingston is the original entrance to Yellowstone National
Park, and it was here that rail passengers on the old
Northern Pacific Railroad changed trains to catch the Park
Branch Line to Yellowstone Park.
Looking down Livingston's Main Street, the historic, Western
atmosphere of this frontier town remains intact in many of
the city's buildings. Over 436 buildings have been placed on
the National Historic Register and walking maps are
available at the Chamber of Commerce.
Live theatre awaits you at four playhouses as well as a
movie house featuring the newest releases. Art galleries,
museums, unique boutiques add to the blend of spending some
time in Livingston.
Enjoy Sacajawea Park with an afternoon lunch, children can
play at Pompey's Playground, enjoy the wading pool, tennis,
horseshoes or a nice leisurely nap on the banks of the
Yellowstone River. The Lagoon will provide hours of
afternoon fishing for children or take a walk on the path
along the river. The City Pool is open to the public
from June through August.
